Presentations that Persuade and Motivate

Almost everyone gets a little nervous about having to make a presentation in
front of a group. Some people say they would rather have a root canal than go
through the anxiety of delivering a speech.

By following some basic guidelines for preparations and delivery, you can
transform nervousness into positive energy and get the results you want.

The ability to give effective presentations isn’t something you want to delegate
or avoid for long. Sooner or later, you will be called upon to make a
presentation to an audience ranging from your own direct reports and other
managers, or your superiors, customers, and industry colleagues.

A manager who can deliver effective speeches will have a far better chance of
advancing in her or her career than one who doesn’t bother to master this
essential art.

Don’t rely upon your natural intelligence or charm either. You may get away with
innate intuition for part of your career, but leaving this to chance or just
winging it is risky. Your career advancement could be on the line.

The secrets to successful presentations are simple and based on common sense,
but they are not always commonly practiced.
